Edinburgh is to become a sea of blue and white as the capital celebrates its
cultural heritage for the annual
Ceilidh Culture festival.
This will be the eighth year of the festival, which runs from March 26th until April 18th and is set to attract over 30 organisations that still practice many Scottish traditions.
In an effort to reach a wider audience, people involved in traditional arts of folk
music, song, dance,
literature and
craft will hold a number of events in the city.
There will also be a street fair on April 2nd-5th, with food and craft stalls, music and dance, celebrating Scotland's heritage and the valuable traditional skills that many artists in Scotland still possess today and make their living.
Running alongside the festival will be a new project run by the City of Edinburgh Council. The Gaelic Language Plan will aim to promote the native Scottish language in speech and literature to young and old people living in the city.
